zugara130
The interactive media agency Zugara has combined augmented reality with motion capturing to develop a completely new form of social shopping. Their technology enables people to try on various items of clothing and use the webcam to test how they look; the pictures can be shared in real-time with other users and friends in social networks who can then make their own suggestions and help the person make the right fashion choice.

PRICE CHECKS WITH MOBILE SCANNERS Deutschland
chekitmobile130
The “WOABI” software package from checkitmobile transforms the mobile phone into a barcode scanner and thereby helps users to make the most cost-efficient purchases possible. The price of an article can be checked by photographing it and comparing it in an online database. If the software finds a cheaper alternative, it will show the price and where to buy the article. In addition, “WOABI” informs users by e-mail whenever their sought after price for a particular product becomes available somewhere.

PERSONAL SHOPPING GUIDE VIA SKYPE USA
TrunkClub130
The “Trunk Club” is a personalised online shopping service for men in which a style expert offers consulting sessions via Skype and suggests which clothes would be suitable for the clients. Each member is assigned a personal shopping consultant who first has to find out what kind of clothes the man already has and likes, and then makes an independent selection of nine new articles that are sent to the client for testing. Members can try on the new garments at home and have their appearance assessed by their personal consultant. At the end, the customers only pay for the items they like and wish to keep.

SHOPPING ASSISTANT AT SUPERMARKET Deutschland
METRO130
The Metro Group in Germany has developed a mobile shopping assistant (MEA) for its customers to the ‘real,- Future Store. This enables customers to create shopping lists online and then access them on their mobile phones in the Future Store. Once in the store, the customers can scan all the products with the camera on their mobiles and collect them in a shopping trolley. When the shopping is complete, the assistant generates a barcode on the phone’s display based on the goods in the trolley. This barcode can then be read at the checkout and payment can be made either in cash, by card or on the phone.

CROWDSOURCING FOR INVESTMENTS kanada
Print
The online platform “Joy de Vivre” offers entrepreneurs looking for investors an opportunity known as conceptual crowdsourcing. Interested investors acquire shares in the product while it is still in the idea stage and full production can begin as soon as a previously calculated minimum number has been purchased. “Joy de Vivre” believes that a minimum amount of investment must be attained to finance the development, manufacture and distribution of the products. If the product doesn’t get fully funded, the money is paid back.
